If you are selling the jewelry, you will need to make some kind of label or card for your jewelry.
String tickets are often used when selling bracelets, but earrings often sell better when put on a card.
The card not only gives you product more value, but it also gives you a place to advertise and a place to
put your price.
Many label makers, such as Avery, make precut labels to use with your computer. These are readily
available from office supply stores and drug stores. Choose a heavy card stock that can be printed on your
printed. Using the label maker’s template, print the name of the team at the top of the card. If you have
a web site where customers can order your product, put it on the bottom right of the card. T pins or push
pins allow you to make holes in the cards at the proper places for your earrings.
Your customers need to be able to see your product once it is ready to sell. Piling your jewelry in
baskets on table tops should only be used for inexpensive products. If your product is more expensive,
displaying the product properly is very important.
Hanging your product is a good way for your customer to see all of the different styles you are offering.
It also keeps your jewelry from getting shop worn by your customers; they can see it with out handling each
piece. Jewelry display fixtures are available from fixture stores, but they are often pricey. Sometimes gift
stores or jewelry stores might have some old fixture they will give you for free.
An easy fixture that works quite well and is inexpensive is to hinge two small screens together, and
paint them with your team colors. Earrings can be displayed without cards, by hanging them through the holes
in the screen. If your jewelry is on cards, they can be displayed by paper clipping them to ribbons that are
the team’s colors. These ribbons can push pinned to the top of the screens and allowed to hang down on both
sides.
